Fully computerized with state of the art equipment,
their facility is one of the largest pellet plants in
the industry.
Dried sawdust arrives in the plant via conveyors and
goes directly to the hammer mill. The sawdust is then
hammered to a uniform size for pelletizing.
Conditioned with steam, the fiber is given just
enough moisture to create the binding process needed to
produce high quality pellets. The rollers in the pellet
machine press the fiber through holes in a die,
compressing the fiber to approximately 42 lb. Per cubic
ft. (673kg per cubic m.)
The pellets are cooled and then double screened,
removing fines. A final vacuum removes any loose dust
before the product is heat sealed in 40 lb. (18kg.)
Bags.
Blow Boy Premium Wood Pellets have the best
packaging process in the industry. The pellets are heat
sealed in a UV protected, 3.5 mil, 40 lb.(18.1 kg)
plastic bag. Pallet of 60 bags, protected in an 8 in.
high cardboard tray, are then stretch wrapped, and
covered with a 4 mil plastic pallet cover. A second
stretch wrap is then applied to prevent material
breakdown and weather damage. Their superior packaging
is another component of their quality assurance program.
Glow Boy's pellet plant is part of a large
sawmill operation which produces hundreds of tons of
white wood fiber on a daily basis. With this kind of
supply, they are able to ship large quantity orders in a
timely manner. They control their own fiber supply, thus
enabling them to secure a long term supply of high
quality wood pellets.
